IEEE IWQoS 2004 will be held in
Delta Centre-Ville, ideally located in downtown Montreal (click here for a map). This striking modern
28-story hotel is located in the heart of downtown Montréal, where the Old
Montréal and the New International Business District meet. It neighbours
the Montréal Convention Centre, adjacent to the IATA, OACI headquarters and
World Trade Centre. The hotel offers indoor access to the Métro and
Underground City. Molson Centre, Place Bonaventure, and trendy restaurants
are within walking distance. The Montréal Casino is just a short cab ride
away.
Until May 21 2004, we have a limited block of Premier-class
guest rooms reserved for IWQoS 2004, from June 6 to June 9 2004. These
guest rooms on reserve have a special rate of $184 Canadian (approximately
$140 US) per night (for up to two guests; extra guests: C$20), with free
High-Speed Internet access included, and are more luxurious than standard
Delta guest rooms, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows. Complimentary
amenities in the hotel includes a health club and an indoor swimming pool.
IWQoS 2004 will be held in its state-of-the-art 134-seat classroom-style
auditorium. The negotiated IWQoS 2004 rate for these Premier-class guest
rooms beats any of the currently available rates on the Internet.
Please take advantage of our blocked rooms and special rate, and make your
reservation as soon as possible, and before May 21 2004, by visiting
the following link:

You may also call +1 (514) 879-1370 to make reservations over the
phone.
We highly recommend that you stay at the workshop hotel, to maximally enjoy
your stay in downtown Montreal and enjoy interactions with other workshop
attendees. It is also convenient, with high-speed Internet connections and
other complimentary amenities such as indoor swimming pools. All
breakfasts from June 7 to June 9 are included in your IWQoS 2004 registration,
making it even more convenient and less stressful to directly stay in the
workshop hotel, rather than commuting to the hotel every morning. The
workshop expenses will be significantly reduced if the block of reserved
rooms are filled. We only have a limited number of rooms blocked, so
please make your reservations early to avoid availability problems.
Please note: As we have a smaller number of rooms blocked for the
night of June 6 2004, if you experience availability problems making your
reservation from June 6 to June 9 (for example, if you see Cdn $199 rather
than the special IWQoS 2004 rate of Cdn $184), please let us know so that
we may ask the hotel to rearrange the room blocks. Even when the room
blocks become unavailable, the special negotiated IWQoS 2004 rate still
applies as long as the hotel is not fully booked. In addition, if you
choose to stay up to five days before or after the workshop, the special
rate of Cdn $184 applies as well. You should not be charged more than the
special IWQoS 2004 rate, as long as you make your reservations before the
cut-off date. There are no guarantees after the cut-off date.

Travelling to the city of Montréal
Considered "the Paris of North America," Montréal is the second-largest
French-speaking city in the world but welcomes English everywhere. Montréal
is a thriving cultural centre, dotted by museums, world-class sports
palaces and some of the best shopping in the world. Its streets, theatres
and performing arts centres are constantly alive with an endless stream of
festivals and artistic events. With all major downtown attractions close to
each other, walking is a way of life in Montréal. In fact, it's not unusual
for the sidewalks to be busy until the wee hours of the morning since the
bars are open until 3:00am.
For those who prefer to remain indoors but still want to explore,
Montréal's famous Underground is a city within the city. Visitors can shop,
dine and sightsee in the 18 miles of climate controlled subterranean
pedestrian malls. For those whose interests rest outdoors, even in winter
Montréal remains active throughout the season. For a sense of the
"Québecois" French of the city, try dining on the famed St. Laurent strip,
where restaurants and bistros abound, and you can "bring your own bottle".
In contrast, Crescent Street offers a variety of distinctive cafes and bars
with live blues and jazz entertainment that are popular with the city's
English community and visitors. A short distance from the downtown core is
Old Montréal, reflecting the European roots of the city and retaining much
of the historic architecture. On these cobblestone streets you will find
restaurants and unique crafts and shops. Montréal is a city that continues
to dazzle its visitors year after year.
In case that you wish to stay and enjoy Montreal longer, the Grand Prix of Canada
2004, to be held from June 11 to 13, is a great and convenient event
right after IWQoS 2004, for those who love automobiles and racing. Hotel
reservations after June 10 2004 may not be easy to make, so if you plan to
stay longer, please book your hotel rooms early. If you book before the
cut-off date, you are entitled to the discounted IWQoS 2004 rate for hotel
guest rooms, up to five days before and five days after the IWQoS period
(June 6 - June 9).
